“Starburster,” from Fontaines D.C.’s fourth album, was inspired by a panic attack experienced by lead singer Grian Chatten in a London subway station.
That raw moment served as our starting point for imagining the lyrics video.

The story follows Josh, a young man quietly overwhelmed by anxiety — a discreet yet deeply universal emotion.
His day mirrors those fragile moments we all experience.
Through three connected works, the project explores this inner world from different angles.
Each medium subtly extends the narrative, leaving space for personal interpretation and emotional resonance.

For two minutes, we follow a young man through a day marked by a growing sense of unease.
Anxiety, ever-present, intensifies as the video progresses — visually translated through a mix-media approach combining collage and animated drawings.
As the music softens near the end, the tension finally breaks.
Overwhelmed by emotion, the character loses control.

Shot in a 9:16 vertical format, this 30-second teaser drops us into a cold, interrogation room where our character is being questioned.
It quickly becomes clear he’s not there by accident…
The video ends with the reveal of a key piece of evidence — subtly linking back to the album cover.

The cover takes the form of a piece of evidence — the Starburster CD sealed in a plastic bag.
It extends the visual world of the teaser and video, while sparking curiosity through its narrative, crime-scene-like twist.
