What is Art-icle ?
It is a collection of non-numbered contemporary art history books. Each edition focuses on a single artist, offering a retrospective and explanatory approach. This edition is dedicated to Takashi Murakami, exploring his colorful universe and groundbreaking influence.

01 ─ Intended Audience
The collection is for both : art history enthusiasts and those who know nothing about it. The footnotes and explanations make the content accessible to everyone.

02 ─ Books structure
Art-icle does not use pagination; instead, a timeline guides readers through the chapter, which is structured around the artist’s life.

03 ─ Books system
All the books follows a strict grid, balancing structure with creative freedom. Each spread is built around two suggested square windows, shaping a dynamic layout that organizes text while creating playful interactions with images.

04 ─ Typography
Art-icle uses Arpona, a modern and geometric typeface with character—striking yet subtle enough to let the artist’s world take center stage. Chapter number are set in an experimental typeface inspired by Kiosk, seamlessly fitting into the page structure.
